Kitchenaid KSRS25IKSS01 Evap Fan Constantly Running

    Model Number: KSRS25IKSS01
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: Less than 1 year

    Hi All,

I've been having an issue with my evap fan constantly running in my Kitchenaid KSRS25IKSS01. I do see that the compressor fan cycles on and off. I also checked the evaporator for ice buildup and everything looks or. It only has a thin layer of ice. The temps in the freezer are at 0 (as low as my temp gauge will go) and 36 in the refrigerator. I tried to increase the temp by sliding the refrigerator to cool instead of colder and the fan did not shut off. Does this look like an issue with the thermostat? If not what else could it be?

Edit: If it helps, I moved the dial one tick down on the freezer setting and both fans went off. Ten minutes later the fan came back on even though I didn't open the doors after changing the setting.

    Thanks

According to the wiring diagram, it looks like it could be either the refrigerator temperature control thermostat or the air diffuser assembly causing the issue. Those two parts work together to tell the evaporator fan when to turn on and off.

These are the parts for your model:

    Air Diffuser Assembly - WP2209751

Temperature Control Thermostat (Refrigerator) - WP2161460

    Hi Ryan,

Is there any chance that the refrigerator thermostat could also trigger the evaporator fan?

Yes, it is the refrigerator section temperature control thermostat.
