Whirlpool Front loader - Grinding before spinning & clanking when direction changes

Hi, our Whirlpool WFW75HEFW0 front load washing machine just started to make some strange sounds. There is a loud grinding sound that goes on for about 5-10 seconds that happens a few minutes before the spin cycle starts. It happens twice during a normal cycle, first around the 41 minute mark and second around the 13 minute mark. I have also noticed a louder than usual clank sound when the drum changes direction while the machine is doing its normal wash cycle. The cycle goes on and does fully complete but now I've just started to hear sounds while spinning too. Any thoughts on what is causing this and how to fix it?
