The DOOR BOOT SEAL has some mildew on it and my wife would like the seal changed. Cleaning does not work. Where do I start? I appreciate your input.

Replacing the door boot seal (also called a bellow) on your Duet washer is pretty easy. First unplug the washer. The door boot is held on by two clamps, an inner clamp which you can't see right away and an outer clamp which you can see going around where the door seal attached to the front panel of the washer. You will need to remove this clamp first. Use something that is not sharp (flat head screw driver, ect) to pry the clamp out of the groove. It is usually easiest to start at the bottom. Once this clamp is removed, you can peal the door seal off of the front panel of the washer. By folding the door seal inwards you will have access to the inner clamp which goes around the outer tub of the washer. Note, before removing this clamp and the old door seal, take note at the 12 O-clock position, you will see a mark indicating how to center the door seal. Remove the inner clamp and the old door seal. Take the new door seal and install it around the wash tub, start at the top to make sure that you have it centered and carefully work your way all the way around until its on completely. Next install the clamp to secure the door seal to the wash tub. Then reinstall the door seal onto the front panel of the washer. Insert the seal into the grove start at the top and work it in all the way around. The next part is probably the hardest and can sometimes require a 2nd set of hands. Reinstall the outer clamp. Make sure the spring is facing down (6 O-clock position) and start at the top by inserting the clamp into the groove. You need to pull the spring clamp apart while inserting it into the groove at the same time. It is not easy, and it can help to have another person holding the clamp from coming out of the groove. After that you should be done. Try out the washer to make sure it is on correctly and not rubbing or leaking at all.
