Thread: Samsung Dryer Voltage

    Samsung Dryer Voltage

    Model Number:
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: More than 10 years

I checked the voltage on the dryer and the outlet

    It is lower than 240/120

    It’s about 238/117 ish

Will that cause the dryer from running? It has power and control turns on but wont run

Shows code dY26 and dY1b( with another mainboard)

    Model DV520AEP/XAC

I have replaced all 4 thermostats/sensor( nothing wrong with the original one)

I checked heating element conductivity it is fine.

The door switch is fine as well.

That voltage is okay, it would not prevent the dryer from running. Can you post pictures of those error codes and the model number tag from the dryer?

Is that the new control board or the original one in your photo?

Can you please post a picture of the model number tag too?

that's the original control board . Do you mean the DV520AEP/XAC sticker?

I have taken apart everything and check the motor switch as well, unless it is the motor that is dead.

That is one of the tags. I prefer to use the one found around the opening of the door.

Those error codes aren't listed in the service information for your model. This could mean that you have the wrong control board installed. Can you post of picture of the new control board and the original control board?

Those code came from the test mode. I don’t know how to go into diagnostics mode if there are one like the washer.

    Thanks

the 2010 one is the original and the 2014 I got it awhile ago and thought it was the mainboard that had issues but it wasn't .

this time I replaced the motor , all sensors . I checked door switch, belt switch and they are all fine.

I did try to connect a multimeter to the relay brown wire and the ground but there was nothing.

The boards look like they match up.

This should be the service manual for your model here.

I don't think that's the service manual, the service mode doesn't work .

==> Press Wrinkle Prevent and Temp buttons for 3 seconds, or until 3 beeps are heard

However this works ---> hold Load Bell + Temp 3s does get me into Test Mode (However I don't know what I can do in there)
----> Up and Down for 3s also works but no idea what mode it was in
