Thread: Kenmore Elite Sd code issue

    Kenmore Elite Sd code issue

    Model Number: 11027062601
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: More than 10 years

    I have seen several posts that deal with this, but none seem to cover my particular issue.

    There is no set time that the code comes on other than in the spin cycle? It has been anywhere from 1 minute to 25 minutes remaining time. I just get the beep and Sd on display.

    My hubs seem to be good.
    I can spin the impeller both directions.
    I removed just about everything, cleaned and re-greased as needed.
    I replaced the rotor position sensor.
    I replaced the control board.

    Diagnostics after above:
    Saved codes: F68 & F71
    C0 - C7 are good
    C8 - Can hear it draining even when it doesn't seem to have any water in it. Instructions say it should "slow spin" but the impeller just agitates slowly back & forth.

    I am sure I have checked something that was wrong and just didn't recognize it. Before I go tearing into everything again, pretending I know what I'm doing, I'd like to get advice from one of you that actually does know what you're doing.

    I would suspect either bad tub bearings or stripped splines on the drive shaft and or basket drive. Let me know what you find.

    I thought all the splines looked good, but I'll definitely re-check to see if I missed something when I check the bearings (which I don't think I did, previously). I am going out of town for a few weeks to see my kids in TX, so I will have to do all this when I get back. I'll let you know what I find out.
