KitchenAid noise from time to time

    Model Number: KDTM404KPS0
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: 1-5 years

Hello, my KitchenAid dishwasher would make a sort of moaning sound from time to time mostly early in the wash cycle. It seems to be coming from underneath rather that inside the dishwasher. It only lasts a few seconds but will come and go maybe 5-10 times during the wash cycle. Other than that it's pretty quiet. I can hear the water stream from the sprayer hitting the front door as the spray arms rotate.

I replaced the entire pump and motor assembly figuring that one of those has to be the culprit and while I'm doing the effort of removing and replacing the unit in the kitchen I might as well make sure I've got the problem covered. But alas it's still there, but not as often as it was before replacement oddly enough.

    Any other suggestions appreciated.

Ps: The pump/motor is indeed more quiet since the replacement so that did help something. Also note that the pump was quite clean when I removed it as is the rest of the dishwasher. It's only 3 years old but built during COVID.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you record a video of the issue and upload it to Youtube?

Well, I tried. This time it was nice and quiet.

I'm starting to wonder if the problem all along has been some dishes blocking the rotating spray arms thus it makes a sound. I would think I'd hear a sound that it hits a dish but maybe not. I'll try again on the next load run. I suppose it's possible it's really fixed, or I now have a fully functional spare pump/motor assembly.
    Thanks for your advice.
