[FIXED] Kenmore Elite Refrigerator Model 795.77564600 Water not dispensing

    Model Number: 795.77564600
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: More than 10 years

    Good Morning,

My water dispenser quit working about a week ago. I haven't had time to troubleshoot as my wife is in hospice here at home.

Dispenser Water valve in door reads correct Resistance (360-420 Ohms). Have line voltage at the valve when pushing the lever switch. Disconnected dispenser tubing at valve. No water. Ice maker works fine when it calls to fill after dispensing cubes.

Changed valve in the door , same symptom.

Could this be the main water valve in the back of the fridge. I am trying to figure out if the call for water is sent to the machine room water valve separate from the the Ice Maker call for water.
? Or could it be a water pressure Issue?

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Joe

Which part number did you replace? Have you disconnected the hoses and blown through them to make sure you don't have a frozen water line?

I replaced tthe door water valve part # 5220JB2008A. All hoses clear. Going to check for voltage at the water inlet valve from the main PCB.

The coiled tubing that acts as the tank was clear. The hose from the valve up to the dispenser tube is clear.

I replaced the door water valve because there was not any noise or vibration when 115 VAC applied. The replacement has a hum and vibration. I will follow the guide attached

Let me know what you find after doing the voltage test. That is the next test that I would do.

    Evening Doc,

Had 115 VAC at pins 4 and 11 on the main PCB. The First water valve had no continuity which means an open winding. I ordered the part from you guys, Part #PD00001944 | Mfg #5221JB2006K. It seems that they supply both possible inlet valves for the LG models. My valve has the single inlet and a single outlet with (2) solenoids. One for Ice and the other for water.

    Have a good weekend

Thanks for the update. Just a quick note, make sure to have the multimeter set to Ohms when testing the solenoid windings as the ohm value is often to high to register continuity on most multimeters. Let me know if the water valve resolves the issue.

Great! I have updated this to FIXED. Do you have the part number of the water valve that fixed the issue?
