Kenmore 110 not going through cycles

    Model Number: 110.66662500
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: More than 10 years

    Hey all.

Trying to figure this issue out. My dryer stopped going through the cycles, meaning you set a dyer cycle and the timer never advances. On the air dry setting, with a replacement timer that I had bought it did advance ONLY on the air dry setting but once it hit 0 it stopped advancing and never ended the cycle. I can manually advance the timer and the cycles will eventually end however the settings dont change, meaning if I set it to air dry it still heats during the cycle.

I have replaced the timer, both thermostats, and several other sensors, but nothing fixed it. Any help, please.

Which part numbers were replaced on the dryer? Were they new OEM Whirlpool parts?

Is the dryer heating okay? Does the timer advance on the timed dry cycle? Did replacing the timer change how the dryer acts?

The dryer does heat. I believe currently, nothing advances. I don't remember what timer is currently in it (if it's the original or the replacement that I bought). The only thing that the timer changed was that the timed dry cycles advanced but never ended (ie setting 20 mins air dry, after 20 mins it would be on 0 but would keep going) and I believe it's heating no matter what now (ie air dry still heats).

Try testing the timer as we show in the video below.
