Adjustable Slider on Glass Rack Broken (Samsung)

    Model Number: DW80B7071US
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

I've had my Samsung DW80B7071US dishwasher for about 18 months. Within the first year, the adjustable slide on the second rack that is supposed to accommodate wine glasses began detaching from the assembly. Samsung support was not helpful. I called for warranty service and was told that I needed to be gentler when loading my dishwasher.

The assembly for this is basically a plastic clip that snaps to the frame of the rack. Every time I run a dishwashing cycle, it detaches. It's extraordinarily annoying and renders the second rack somewhat useless.
I've tried marine epoxy, FlexSeal, Flex Tape and other waterproof, high heat adhesives to no avail.
Does anyone have a solution to permanently seal this?

It's the plastic slider that clips on to the frame of the rack. Please ignore the leftover adhesive that I need to scrub off from my latest attempt to secure it. Anyhow, this is the slider that controls the angle of the tines on the second row from the left, which lets you lay wine glasses at an angle for washing. If I remove it, the tynes just flop around. I never use it and, without fail, it comes apart after every washing whether there is an item in that side of the rack or not, like the pressure of the wash cycle is more than the clips can take.

Do you see anything broken on yours compared to this one?

I'm sorry, I don't know of a solution to your problem. And, it looks like this piece is only sold as part of the dishrack assembly.

Yeah, I wasn't interested in spending $275 on a rack (MSRP) that was part of a $600 dishwasher.

Does you or anyone ekse have any suggestions on what could be used as an adhesive to hold the clips on the rack? Something that bonds but can withstand the heat and water?

Maybe some sort of silicone? Be careful, because if any of that comes off and makes its way into the pump it could damage the pump.
