This started a few weeks ago, only when in the spin cycle. It briefly gets louder when the spin speed changes. What am I looking at here?
It's hard to tell what is causing this noise. Does the washer seem like it is getting out of balance?

It's not shaking much, if that's what you mean. But after I opened it up, I saw what I can only describe as part of the drum being dislocated. One side is sitting about 1/4 inch higher than the other, and slightly off-center. And the underside of the lip of the outer drum shows signs of scraping, with plastic shavings coming off.
Sadly/typically, the extended warranty ran out six months ago.
It sounds like the machine might need to be disassembled to find the cause of the problem. I am wondering if maybe the bearings in the gearcase/transmission are worn out.
