    Lg washer overflow

    Model Number:
    Brand: LG
    Age: 6-10

I have a house in Arizona I use in the winter. I have house checkers that come every 2 weeks when we’re not there. They turn the water on to the house when they arrive then go in and turn all taps on flush toilets and start dishwasher and washing machine. They take about 70 pics of everything they do and when they leave they take a pic of the main shutoff valve in the closed position. Well they came back two weeks ago and there was water on the floor in the laundry room and the two bedrooms adjacent to the laundry room which have carpet, the areas closest to the laundry room were wet. They said the washing machine was over flowing with water. So with the water shut off how could the water get in the washing machine and overflow. I have a pic of the main shutoff closed. So I know thier not lying. So does anyone have any ideas how this could happen, or heard of this before?

We are at our house now and washing machine works fine. Fills up with water to proper level, drains properly.

Maybe a faulty main shutoff valve in the house that isn't closing completely? Or, even after the valve is shut off there is still leftover water pressure in the system. I don't know if that would be enough to flood the house though.

Even if water to house was left on the water on washing machine would shut off at high level. But house checker s said the washing machine was overflowing.

Is there any washing machines that have a setting that bypasses the high level solenoid?

Thanks! Try unplugging the washer but leaving the water turned on. If the washer is filling while it is unplugged, the water inlet valve is bad and needs to be replaced.

I guess you didn’t read my whole post. Two weeks ago the house checkers found the washing machine had over flowed there was water on the floor and washer was full and had over flowed. The main shutoff valve to the house was off and have photo from month ago showing they shut main off when they left. My question is how did water get to washer with mainline shut off. There’s been some speculation that my be a vacuum was created from hot water tank. But how could the washing fill past the high level solenoid. So that is why I’m asking could there be a setting on machine that overrides the high level in washer. If not how did the washing machine overflow.

Plus we are now at the house and the washer works fine no over filling of tub.

I did read your whole original post many times. I am familiar with what you described. I don't think I can troubleshoot your problem any further. If you find the cause of the problem or the solution, please let me know. Thanks!
