Fisher & Paykel Dryer Code 8

    Model Number: DEIX2
    Brand: Other
    Age: More than 10 years

    Hello,

Hurricane Helene flooded our home. 7" in laundry room. I dried out Fisher Paykel top loader dryer and tried it. Got Error Code #8. I checked three temp sensors. All have continuity. Replaced motor controller as it had been under water. I still get error code #8. Is there a reset? Or what else should I check? Dryer motor is 3 phase from controller. Motor seems to ohm out OK.

    Help!
    Jeff

Hey Jeff, you will need to check the exhaust temperature sensor for specific ohm values at certain temperatures. This sensor should measure these values are these temperatures: 0C = 33 kOhms, 22C = 11 kOhms, 40C = 5 kOhms

It looks like the sensor might be part of the wiring harness part # 395381. I can't tell for sure, so let me know what you find.

Thanks Ryan, I think that might be the part. I get 0 ohms at the sensor module on the two black wires. I think they are the sensor.

I cannot remove the lint screen to follow the wires. Do you know how to remove? I don't want to break it.

We flooded 7" which got no where near the sensor in the drum. I did replace the motor control which was submerged.

Maybe I can find a thermistor in my junk to temporarily see if that corrects the code.

The video below should give you a good idea on how these dryers come apart.

I just figured out my new ohm meter. reading is 10 ohms at room temp, so that isn't the problem. Might need a new sensor control board, but it might just be new dryer time....

Double check that your reading was 10K (10,000) ohms and not 10 ohms. If you decide to fix it, let me know what you find.
