LG Front Load - LE CODE whines when spinning

    Model Number: WM2501HVA
    Brand: LG
    Age: More than 10 years

I have an older LG Front Load washer. Several weeks ago my daughter overloaded the washer during a cycle and it threw an LE code. I reset the washer and split the load in half. it finished without and issue. But within the last few days it has thrown a LE code and stops with even a normal size load. If it has only two or three items it seems to do ok but will whine when spinning and slowing down (see video in link). I have a new tub position sensor and new shock absorbers (because it seems to be kind of bouncy/wobbly when loaded down). I don't want to have to take it apart and replace those things and then put everything back together to find that it did not solve the issue. I am also going to check to make sure there is not anything stuck between the inner and outer tubs. Are there any other suggestions of things to check? Bearings, splines are two things tha have come to mind.

I can't access your Google Drive link, it says access denied.

The LE error code is usually caused by either a failure of the Rotor Position Sensor (also called a Hall Sensor) and/or a break in the wiring to the sensor. When these fail the motor can start to make weird whining and grinding noises. You could do a visual inspection of the parts to look for any failures. Looks for breaks in the wiring or the white plastic housing separating from the black part of the hall sensor. Often times if you don't see a visual failure of either one, people just replace both parts at the same time. Let me know what you find!

    These are the parts:

    Rotor Position Sensor - 6501KW2002B (PD00073205)

    Motor Wire Harness - 6877ER1016F (PD00008962)

Here is a video showing how to replace the hall sensor:

I was able to watch your video now. Does the tub spin freely and quietly by hand?

If it is noisy during the high speed spin cycle, you may have bad tub bearings. I would inspect the Hall Sensor and wiring harness next.
