I have noticed that the "change your own rollers" repair videos have started to advise putting some lubricant on the shafts. I never put lubricant on replacement roller shafts of my Speed Queen dryer over its 26 year lifetime. I couldn't afford a new Speed Queen, so I purchased an Amana. Before the 1 year warranty was up the dryer started shrieking. The problem was a RUSTY roller bearing. Is this is a new sign of poor quality control, or worse, the oilite bearings in the rollers are chosen as lowest Chinese quality parts? If so, it makes sense that the repair videos have now started recommending lubrication. The warranty tech used grease. Now I'll find out how long it takes for the grease to pull in enough lint to jam up the dryer. Worse yet, he didn't change the shaft that the rusty roller was grinding down. That's got to also cause trouble.
