    Fisher Paykel dryer not heating

    Model Number: DEGX1
    Brand: Other
    Age: More than 10 years

Dryer quit heating about 2 weeks ago. Removed heating elements. Continuity through elements good, no continuity through element to housing, so not shorted. Continuity through 3 thermostats good. Ohmmeter test of elements shows elements are good. Power to machine shows 243 volts. Then purchased an ammeter to verify power to elements, no power. That seemed to indicate motor controller was bad. Pulled the controller and opened it. No sign of burned components so ordered a new motor controller. Did not help.

That model number isn't coming up for me. Can you please double check it?

Thank you. Which part number control board did you replace? Was it replaced with a new part?

That's not a valid number. Is it possibly 395664USP?

Is there any way to test the motor controller board? Also, is it possible the top control panel is not sending heat request to the relay on the motor controller board?

You can download the service manual for the dryer here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/11...kel-Degx1.html

It's not likely that the top control panel is causing your issue.

Had that manual. Looks light I might need the light pen (part number 425930) and smart tool software to actually find the problem and they seem to be unavailable.

Checked Fisher & Paykel for service availability. They showed 2 companies about 40 miles away. The web address for one was bad, 503 error. Neither were listed on YP.com.

May just replace it with a much inferior product. It's a shame that a machine that looks like new can't be maintained. My wife really liked the toploading feature, handy lint cup, and quick drying time.

It sounds to me like you have checked all the components in the heating circuit on this dryer.
