    GE Motor Replacement - wiring

    Model Number: DDG7280RCLWH
    Brand: GE
    Age: More than 10 years

I replaced the motor with an exact one (WE17X32) and have wired it with the exception of one connection. I set the old and new motors side by side to ensure wiring was good. But I must have disconnected a wire early on. It is actually two wires (orange wire looks like it goes to the cycle selector and a black wire that goes to the heating element, maybe a thermostat). They connect in the middle very near the motor. The connector will fit one of the prongs on the motor switch. I just don't know which prong. There are 6 numbered prongs and 1, 4, 5, and 6 are occupied. My choices seem to be 2 and 3 and I am not confident in making a 50/50 decision. Attached photo shows the disconnected wire combination that I'm looking to attach. Appreciate anyone's help.
