I am assuming the fan motor in the freezer is working properly. If the entire coil is full of frost and/or ice, that indicate the refrigerator is not going through the automatic defrost cycle properly. If you thaw it out, it should work for a couple of days because it frosts up again. To fix the issue, you will need to find the failed defrost component, replace it, then fully defrost the coil.
On this refrigerator there are three components that work together to control the automatic defrost cycle. The main control board, defrost heater, and defrost thermostat. You can test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat as shown in the videos below. If those two parts test good, then the main control board is likely bad. But, I always recommend replacing the defrost thermostat even if it tests good as they can often act up intermittently.
