GE ZDT925SPNSS shutting off before cycle ends

    Model Number: ZDT925SPNSS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hi,

I have a GE ZDT925SPNSS dishwasher that is turning off before the cycle completes but only after over 2 hours of running.

The cycle is interrupted and the status light goes out, but the dishwasher can be turned back on to run a new cycle (that will again turn off before completion).

I cleaned the coarse and fine filters, and replaced the pressure sensor WD21X25468 but no change.

Can you please post the full model number and serial number from the tag on the dishwasher?

Does the dishwasher display any error codes? Try using the fault code display mode to retrieve any stored error codes.

From the tag, model ZDT925SPN5SS and serial RS806878B
Using the fault code display mode, the door status appears correct, and the display reads "No Active Faults"
    Thank you.

When the dishwasher stops running, does it leave water in the bottom of the dishwasher?

No it doesn't but the dishes are wet, as if the drying cycle hasn't run or completed

To me it sounds like it could be a failure of the drying system. Try entering service mode and activing the Dry Heater with Fan.

In service mode the DW turns off after a second of running "door fan" as well as "dry heater with fan". Is the part above the best suggestion and if so is there a guide available showing how to access and replace it?

Try the same test again, but this time with the part unplugged. If the dishwasher does not turn off with the part unplugged, that might indicate that something in the part is shorting that circuit.

When I disconnect the wire to the fan on the dry boost heater, it tests ok, but the door fan still shuts on testing that component. Disconnect door fan wire and all tests good. Do I need to replace both the door fan and the dry boost heater/blower? Is there something else wrong that caused these two to go bad?
There did appear to be moisture inside the door that could've gotten inside the door fan (photos attached)

I think from the testing that you have done, you have narrowed it down to a failure of the dry boost heater & blower. I can't say if there is another underlying issue causing moisture to get in the door, or if that is also related to the dryer boost heater/blower failure. I would inspect all of the gaskets and seals in that area to look for anything that might contribute to that moisture. If you don't see anything wrong, then try replacing the part and then monitor it to make sure the moisture doesn't return.

I'm sorry to hear that. Does it still test good once you disconnect the door fan wire?
