    [FIXED] Dishwasher leaking underneath

    Model Number: DDT595SSJ5SS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

Back in November 2024 my dishwasher leaked enough that water was coming out of a recessed light in my basement. I finally have made time to try and fix it but I am stumped because the only leaking I see underneath it is some dripping but no where near what came out in November. The water is dripping from the flood switch housing. I am attaching a photo. The flood switch housing doesn't seem to be an issue so I am wondering if I need to replace the sump manifold? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Click image for larger version.

I don't think the sump manifold includes anything that seals the flood switch. I think you might need the #511 O-Ring in the diagram below. Let me know what you find.

I replaced the o-ring and 22 minutes into a heavy wash cycle it began dripping again. I decided to double check the o-ring so when I removed the float I noticed the down rod had wobble to it. I examined it more closely and noted a small hole forming on top of the float where the rod would be connected. I flipped the float over to see where the rod was attached and as I did the rod fell off. I ordered a new one and will let you know if it solves my issue.

The float was the part. I received it today and replaced it. I ran a heavy cycle which was 147 minutes and I am happy to say it ran without leaking. I believe it has been fixed. Thank you for assistance.
