GOT te CODE, REPLACED THERMISTOR AND STILL GET CODE

    Model Number: 79631512211
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: More than 10 years

Hello, I have a Sears Kenmore Elite Top load washing machine. It was showing the te code. I tested the thermistor and it tested bad. I replaced the thermistor and still get the te code. I didn't test the new thermistor before I put it in, but I figured it's new. Does anybody know what else could be the issue? The machine will not work while the code is lit. Also, when I turn the power on, all of the lights on the dial light up. Thanks in advance.

6323EL2001G which I believe was superseded by 6322FR2046G. I didn't know there was more than 1.

There is only one, I just like to make sure that you have installed the correct part number. Next, try inspecting the wiring between the thermistor and the main control board. Often times a break in the wiring can cause this error.

Would that be a visual inspection or with an ohm meter? I saw somewhere that the heating element might also cause the te code. Is that true? I'm thinking by the serial number that this washer might have been born in 2009 or 2019. Would you know by the serial number? Thanks!

Does the te error code show up immediately when you start the washer or after the washer has been running for a while?

See the video below for an example of how to test the wiring with a multimeter.

Hi. The te code shows as soon as you turn the power button on. It was unplugged for several days while we were waiting for the part. I installed the new part, plugged it back in and tried the power button. The code came on a couple of seconds or microseconds after the power was turned on. I unplugged it again and let it sit for a few minutes and then tried to power it up again. I still got the te code. It won't fill or do anything with the code on.

I don't think the heater would relate to the issue from what you are describing. I would try testing the wiring harness next.

I'll try that sometime next week. This washing machine is at a school and used for a class that teaches handicaped kids how to perform some of the basics of life. I'll stop in next week and check it out and let you know what I find. Thanks
